My Blog
Chindonesian guy with very poor Chinese sense. Refused to learn Chinese as a child, and having regrets about it now. (very) Slowly keeping up with the regrets by listening to Mandarin music and tuning into Taiwan entertaiment shows.

Jay Zhou: Wo Hen Mang
Posted by lefhen at 08:39 PM on November 4, 2007.
I'm not a big fan of Jay. However, a big star is a big star. Everyone was anticipating for his newest album. Well, the waiting is over. It is out in stores (absolutely not here in Indonesia) on November 2, 2007.
Once again, Jay Zhou took a challenge to expose himself outside his style of music. This time, he goes for western country genre as his main song: Niu Zai Hen Mang. I must admit this kind of music sounded kinda weird for a Chinese song. But, after listening it over and over, I find it quite enjoyable and fun.
Aside from the main song, the album is dominated by Jay's original style of slow songs, such as: Cai Hong (Rainbow), Pu Gong Ying De Yue Ding, Wo Bu Pei, and Zui Chang De Dian Ying. In total, there are 10 songs within a total of 40 minutes in length. All pinyin lyrics from Jay's newest album are available in the Mandarin Lyrics section.

Fresh from Malayan duo: Michael and Fish
Posted by lefhen at 10:01 PM on November 11, 2007.

Two music albums were released on November 9, 2007. Both are well-known Mandarin singers from Malaysia. They can be considered as the Malaysian king and queen for Mandarin pop music industry. They are: Michael Wang Guang Liang and Fish Liang Jing Ru. In these new albums, both of them stay to their roots where they are at best, which is slow pop song.
Michael brings his original style of songs in his new album 'Bu Hui Fen Li'. For Michael's fans out there, you will find a well-known melody in each of his 10 new songs, compared to his previous works. A couple of them are already familiar as they have been released as singles a few moments before, such as 'I Am Who I Am'.
In the other hand, Fish keeps focus on expressing her soothing voice over slow melancholic songs. In her previous album, Fish tried to give something new by adding one song in Taiwanese. This time, Fish gives another try with a song in Cantonese. The album 'J'Adore' features a total of 11 songs, all in similar genre.
For you, pop song lovers, you may try out these two albums, featuring two amongst the best Malaysian artists known in the Mandarin music industry.

Posted by lefhen at 10:59 PM on November 19, 2007.
Alan Luo Zhi Xiang has just released another new album "Wu Suo Bu Zai" on November 16, 2007. Once again, he invites everyone to dance along, introducing his new uptempo songs, such as the first track "Yi Zhi Du Xiu". More in the album, Alan also maintains his sensitive side by performing several ballad songs, including a song from F.I.R.'s A Qin: "Wo Bu Hui Chang Ge". There is also a rare collaboration with Elva Xiao Ya Xuan in "Bai Gei Ni".
Alan Luo has been receiving a huge welcome in Taiwan as he rebuilt his singing career after splitting from the group Romeo. Known as a fun and humorous TV-host, he instantly matured as a solo singer, in line with other well-known artists, like Jay Zhou and Jolin Cai. His previous works has won many awards, most of them were triggered from the appreciation of his fans who are mostly teenagers. It is very likely that Alan will once again with the hearts of his fans with his new album.
